Gain Health – Lose Weight

Most people think they need to lose weight in order to be healthy, well I believe the opposite is true; you really need to be healthy in order to lose fat.  Healthy weight loss is about losing fat, not losing muscle or water.

Counting calories or cutting out food groups does not help you lose fat in fact it can have the opposite effect in the long run.  If the body is not getting the macro and micro nutrients then it keeps sending the message for more food which results in cravings, this maybe one of the reasons why diets don’t work.  When you are on a strict diet or starve yourself you are constantly obsessed with the thoughts of food.  Also if the body does not get enough calories it starts to use lean muscle for fuel. This is the exact opposite of what you want because the more muscle you have the more energy (sugar) it can store as glycogen and faster your metabolism.

The most natural way to lose weight is by keeping your blood sugar stable by balancing your hormones, which is achieved by eating 5 small meals every day (3 meals and 2 snacks) and making sure that with each meal you are getting good proteins, low Glycemic carbs, essential fats and some fiber.
